Galloping Greyhounds

Posted Friday, December 10, 2010 by Matthew Hatfield

Stifling Defense: Norcom held their seventh straight opponents under 200 total yards of offense, and this one came with making Lake Taylor one-dimensional on offense and applying pressure all night long. The Greyhounds finished with six sacks, three in each half, and held the Titans to 10 yards passing on 5-of-13 through the air.

St. Ann was out with a left hip injury in last week's victory over Granby. He returned, and along with Kent Cowell each had 10 tackles, three tackles for loss. LaKendrick 'Blindside' Ross continues his pursuit of Eastern District Defensive Player of the Year with 1.5 sacks to raise his season total to 1.5. Curtis Corbett finished with two sacks on Friday night.

"Blindside and Corbett did a good job and helped me with most of my tackles," said St. Ann. "We all came ready to play looking to make plays."

Norcom is allowing only 6.3 points per game. Deep Creek when the Hornets scored 20 and Churchland when the Truckers scored 14 are the lone two times this year that Norcom has given up more than seven points in a contest.
